Jamaica Relief Ministries Thrift Store

Jamaica Relief Ministries Thrift Store is located in Sandy Springs, SC near Anderson.  When you walk in the door of the store, you’ll see posters displaying photos of smiling Jamaican children getting help from the faith-based ministers from North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia

The Yoders from Westminster, SC moved to Jamaica many years ago to assist children after they saw the poverty and the destruction caused by Hurricane Gilbert.  The Yoders have moved back to Upstate SC but continue to help the Jamaican children from afar.

The thrift store opened in April of 2010.  It holds books, shoes, kitchen items, furniture, clothing, toys and more at very reasonable prices.  It’s a neat and well-organized store.

I have wanted to stop in this store everytime I pass it but I am never traveling alone. Maybe one of these days you and I can go together.
