"Mud Splatter for Kids who Matter" is the slogan for the Collins Home 1st Annual Mud Run on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Their website says, "Race Course has been expanded from 3.2 miles and 25 obstacles to.....  3.4 Miles & 37 Obstacles of muddy fun!!!"  

There are four divisions with different start times for adult participants at differing fitness levels. The website helps to describe where you might fit in.  There is even a mini mud run for children.

The 51st Annual South Carolina Apple Festival will begin with the Apple Festival Pageant on Saturday, August 25th at 7 p.m. at West Oak Middle School.  Other activities take place from Tuesday, September 4th to Saturday, September 8th. This is a schedule of events.  Some of the activities over these days include a 5k run, a river float, a rodeo, contests, live entertainment, vendor displays and cook offs.  Please contact the South Carolina Apple Fest Committee by email for more details. Movie Under the Stars #2 - August 10, 2012 - 9 p.m.

Join us under the night sky for "A Movie with the Stars” featuring Dr. Suess' The Lorax. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and spread out on The World of Energy's Lake Keowee peninsula. We'll show the movie on a giant, 43' outdoor movie screen, with beautiful Lake Keowee scenery serving as the backdrop. The movie begins at sundown (approximately 9 p.m.), but pack a picnic and reserve your spot beginning at 7 p.m. No alcohol or pets, please.

Hi Everyone!

Come by water on Lake Keowee on the evening of Wednesday, July 4th, 2012 around 9:30 p.m. to see a great fireworks show. I found this information on the calendar of events for The Reserve at Lake Keowee. My husband and I went two years ago and thought it was a great show.  Here is a youtube clip from July 2010 at The Reserve.  Happy 4th of July to you! We'll be out enjoying Lake Keowee this weekend too.
